Design & Modeling Services
BAI provides 2D and 3D design for new grain systems, facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and improvements to existing operations.
See equipment placement, evaluate layouts, and identify potential issues before construction begins. We can also help plan improvements around future capacity and equipment needs.

Field Service & Repair
When equipment goes down, getting it running again is the priority. Our field service trucks leave Louisville with common replacement parts and mobile repair and fabrication capabilities, allowing us to complete many repairs on the first trip.
Emergency and after-hours service is available when needed.

Inspections & Preventative Maintenance
The best time to find a problem is well before harvest. BAI's preventative maintenance program identifies worn components and developing issues before the end of summer each season, giving you time to make repairs before equipment is needed.
Let our team handle the inspections, heavy lifting, and climbing so you don't have to. Customers enrolled in the BAI Annual Maintenance Plan also receive a 5% discount on parts sold for equipment covered under their program if enrolled by April of that season.

Frequently Asked Questions
The short answer is control over your operation and bottom line. Without storage you sell when the truck line says you sell — usually at harvest, when everyone else is delivering and basis is at its widest. With storage you decide when grain moves, which lets you capture basis improvement and carry instead of handing that value to someone else. You also stop paying commercial storage, drying, and shrink fees on every bushel.
The second half of the return shows up at harvest itself. Bins let you cut at higher moisture and dry it yourself, so you start earlier, keep the combine rolling instead of waiting in line, and get the crop out of the field before weather takes a bite out of it. For a lot of operations that timing gain is worth as much as the marketing flexibility.
What it costs to build against what it returns depends on your bushels, your basis pattern, and your local elevator's fee schedule — the math is different for a 60,000-bushel farm setup than for a commercial expansion, and it's worth running with your lender and accountant, including how current depreciation rules apply. We'll give you honest capacity and cost numbers to plug into that decision, and we'll tell you if we think you're overbuilding.
Most of the time it can be repaired, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you a bin you don't need. Sheets, stiffeners, roof panels, floor supports, and unload equipment are all replaceable. What pushes a bin toward replacement or relocation is foundation failure, damage that's compromised the structure as a whole, or if the cost of the repair exceeds the value of a new bin. We do an on-site inspection, show you photos of what we find, and give you both options with real numbers so you can make the call.
Yes. Blending turns a bin that's off-spec on one factor — moisture, test weight, damage, protein — into a load that hits contract without taking the full discount, and in a bad year it can pay for the equipment in one season. On farm that's often just a properly plumbed setup drawing from two bins into the same leg at controlled rates. On the commercial side we install and service blending legs, gravity/dual-flow blenders, scale and controls integration so you can dial a ratio and actually hit it.
Two things we tell everyone upfront: blending only works if you know what's in each bin, so accurate sampling matters as much as the hardware — and there are legal limits on what can be blended, most notably aflatoxin in corn. We'll build you a system that blends cleanly and accurately; confirm the specifics with your buyer and current FDA/FGIS/state rules before you count on blending for a given load.
Conditioning is managing the temperature and moisture of grain after it's binned so it can be sold in good quality, managing discounts and premiums at your local market. In practice that means running aeration to cool grain down in fall, rehydrating over-dried grain, equalizing temperature so you don't get moisture migration and crusting, and monitoring so you catch a hot spot before it becomes a spoiled core or a bin you can't safely enter. We help with fan and duct sizing, aeration controls, temperature cable and monitoring systems, plus troubleshooting on grain that's already going out of condition. Our EMC Chart is published conveniently for your use! Spoiled grain is expensive; an out-of-condition bin that has to be entered is dangerous. Conditioning is the cheapest insurance in the whole operation.
At BAI we are fueled by a passion to ensure our customers are getting the most out of their grain storage system and equipment. We are in this for our customers, and we treat every operation and installation like it is our own. Your success is our success, and you have enough jobs on the day to day. BAI is in this with you, from the moment you reach out to the time the grain is shipped to market.
